New Scholarships for September - Weeks 1 and 2

There are several new scholarships that you’ll want to apply for.
The NASA Aeronautics Scholarships and Fellowships
Deadline : January 16, 2009 - START NOW
NASA will award 20 two-year undergraduate scholarships and 5 two-year graduate scholarships to students interested in Aeronautics or a related Field. The program is open to U.S. Citizens who are enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university. Undergraduate students will receive up to $15,000 awarded for each school year, to be used for tuition, room and board, or other school-related costs. Graduate students will receive up to $35,000 awarded for each school year, to be used for tuition, room and board, or other school-related costs. All students will have the opportunity to attend a summer internship at a NASA Research Center with a summer stipend up to $10,000. Read more at: http://nasa.asee.org/
Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest
Deadline: September 17, 2008

The Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest is open to undergraduate students. To participate, you must read the novel and write an essay on a selected topic that can be found on the Web site. Essays are judged on both style and content. The winning essay must demonstrate an outstanding grasp of the philosophic meaning of the book “Atlas Shrugged.”

Xerox Technical Minority Scholarship
Deadline: September 30, 2008
The Xerox Technical Minority Scholarship is open to minority undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in technical science or an engineering discipline. In order to apply, you must be a high academic achiever (3.0 GPA or better) and be of African-American, Asian, Pacific Islander, American Indian, Native Alaskan or Hispanic descent. You must also be a U.S. citizen or be a visa-holding Permanent Resident.
